Field of activity

The Settlement IT Mainframe Operations department is operating for the Deutsche Börse AG the IT-infrastructure of the order routing procedures for the trading floor exchanges (Xontro) and providing the connected systems with real-time stock data for further processing.   

The IT-infrastructure is based on the IBM mainframe processors, which are also the platform for clearing and settlements, vault management and corporation-wide SWIFT message traffic. The Production Support unit is also operating the windows, Linux and mainframe applications for the Clearstream Banking Frankfurt AG, Clearstream Banking Luxembourg and the Brain Trade.



  • Production Support 2nd level for the applications in a 2-shift operation (Monday – Friday, 06 am – 10 pm)
  • Independently recognizing application problems and bottlenecks

On Windows, zLinux, Mainframe and on Linux

  • Common operator tasks, start and stop of the mainframe systems (IPL)
  • Planning and creating batch jobs, JCL, Shell scripting
  • Creating file transfer jobs, Connect Direct, SFTP on different platforms
  • Output management RMS, LDMS, CA Spool
  • Correcting job or script errors on the production and development systems
  • Implement and maintain the logging and alerting stack in OpenShift
  • Support projects to onboard onto OpenShift



Qualifications/required skills


  • University degree in the IT-area or comparable education
  • Knowledge of cloud technology would be an asset
  • RedHat Openshift, Github, Jenkins, Artifactory, Elasticsearch, Fluentd, Kibana
  • Monitoring tools: Prometheus / Grafana / Xymon 
  • Experience with z/OS systems would be an asset
  • Knowledge of the following mainframe tools
  • JCL, CA7, TSO / ISPF, REXX, CA1, CA11, Beta92, RMS, LDMS
  • Team player with good communication skills, highly motivated and flexible
  • Outlook and Microsoft Office skills
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English. German would be desirable
