Software Engineer - Critical Post-Trade Applications (f/m/d)

Date: 5 Oct 2026

Location: Prague, CZ

Company: Deutsche Börse Group

Your area of work:

Power the backbone of European capital markets. Within CSD Transformation (CSS IT), you will ensure the ultra-high availability, resilience, and real-time performance of our mission-critical post-trade settlement engines. In this high-stakes, cloud-native ecosystem, millions of securities transactions settle seamlessly every day. As a Production Support Engineer, you bridge software engineering, platform operations, and business reality—tackling complex distributed systems, orchestrating zero-downtime releases, and driving automation to eliminate operational friction in a 24/5 model (with compensated on-call rotation).

Your responsibilities:

  • Act as first-responder for service disruptions across microservices, Kafka event streams, OpenShift/Kubernetes clusters, and SQL databases.
  • Perform in-depth triage and post-mortem analysis to turn recurring incidents into automation scripts, bug fixes, or platform backlog items.
  • Support CI/CD deployment pipelines, Canary and Blue-Green rollouts, operational sanity checks, and emergency rollback procedures.
  • Proactively monitor market checkpoints, ISO 20022/SWIFT messaging queues, batch jobs, and reconciliation latency before business cut-offs.
  • Implement proactive health monitors, custom dashboards, and automated alerting to catch anomalies before clients are impacted.
  • Actively steer disaster recovery simulations and business continuity testing across high-availability architectures.

Your profile:

  • 2–5 years of hands-on experience in production support, SRE, DevOps, or distributed software engineering within high-throughput enterprise environments.
  • Practical knowledge of backend architectures (e.g. Java/Spring, C++, or modern microservices) and message-driven systems (Apache Kafka).
  • Solid background in container platforms (OpenShift / Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, and relational databases (SQL).
  • Proven diagnostic instincts with the ability to methodically trace failures across distributed components, APIs, and network layers.
  • Proactive automation mindset with a strong drive to eliminate toil and optimize operational runbooks.
  • Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written) with the ability to translate technical root causes into clear business context.
  • Pragmatic, reliable team player comfortable collaborating across cross-functional international teams (Frankfurt, Prague, Luxembourg).
