Software Developer (Messaging Middleware) (f/m/d)

Deutsche Börse Group is one of the largest exchange organisations worldwide. As a financial marketplace organizer, the company provides a portfolio of services covering the entire process chain: securities and derivatives trading and clearing, netting and transaction settlement, custody and provision of market information. Information Technology designs, builds and operates the technological infrastructure of the company. These highly integrated and automated IT systems are essential to our success.

We are looking for dedicated software developers to join our IT development centre in Prague and help us advance the technology and functionality of our systems. You will participate in the whole project lifecycle from specification, technical design and implementation to going live and maintenance of applications.

The high availability and reliability requirements of the transaction-based systems will challenge your technical skills and provide many opportunities for improvement. You will acquire insight into financial market products and processes – especially trade management and post trade services.

Our focus is on messaging middleware and our core component is AMQP Java Broker based on open-source project Broker-J from Apache Software Foundation (https://qpid.apache.org).

 

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software
  • Participate in Open-Source community
  • Manage your own project priorities, deadlines and deliverables
  • Stay up to date on technology and help improve processes and culture

 

Required skills/qualification - You should possess and demonstrate the following:

  • Interest and ability to learn, collaborative working style
  • Programming competency: Java
  • A feeling for design and user experience
  • Confidence working in a Linux environment
  • Very good written and spoken English skills

 

Preferred skills/qualifications – the following skills will be a plus:

  • AMQP, Apache Qpid, IBM WebSphere MQ, JMS
  • Experience with security in messaging middleware applications
  • Experience with developing cloud native and 12factor applications
  • Experience with Docker
  • DevOps experience with GitHub, CI/CD (Circle or similar)
  • An interest or background in financial markets and risk management

 

In addition, you will have the chance to take part on open-source projects with the needed guidelines that will help you deliver.
