Senior Java Software Engineer / Expert (f/m/d)

Your area of work:

Join a team building modern, cloud-native platforms that power complex business processes at scale. You will work on a distributed microservices architecture driven by real-time events and state-based workflows, helping to design and deliver resilient systems that process critical business operations. As part of an agile and collaborative engineering environment, you will contribute to the full software lifecycle from solution design and development to deployment, operation, and continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and REST APIs using Java and Spring Boot
• Build event-driven applications leveraging Kafka and modern messaging technologies
• Develop workflow and orchestration capabilities supporting complex multi-step business processes
• Integrate with internal and external systems, ensuring reliable data exchange across multiple sources
• Design and optimize data persistence layers using PostgreSQL and other relational databases
• Implement robust logging, monitoring, audit, and traceability capabilities
• Ensure application resilience through effective error handling, fault tolerance, and recovery mechanisms
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment
• Contribute to quality assurance activities, including integration, performance, and security testing
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and improve code quality

Your profile:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 8-10 years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot
• Proven track record of building and operating microservices-based distributed systems
• Experience designing and implementing event-driven architectures using Kafka or similar technologies
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, asynchronous communication patterns, and system integration
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift and modern CI/CD practices
• Experience using AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar solutions
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, scalability, reliability, and data consistency patterns
• Experience delivering production-grade applications in complex environments
• Exposure to workflow, orchestration, or process-driven platforms
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken
• Proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and focus on delivering business value

Would be an advantage:

• Experience with Go (Golang)
• Experience with React or other modern frontend frameworks
• Understanding of workflow-driven user interfaces and process-centric applications
• Experience working within financial services or similarly regulated environments
• Familiarity with compliance, audit, or governance requirements in enterprise software development
