Your area of work:
The CSS Reconciliation & Investigation unit is responsible for the securities and cash reconciliation of various Deutsche Börse Group entities and performs business control functions in a highly regulated work environment. We are looking for a new colleague to support us in the securities reconciliation process of the unit.

 

As a Securities Reconciliation Officer you will be responsible for the daily reconciliation of security positions that are held in various Deutsche Börse Group entities against the external custodians that hold the positions in the respective markets. Upon detection of differences in the securities balance you will be responsible for the root cause investigation, communication between internal and external stakeholders and the control on the corrective measures until a difference is solved. You will be assigned a set of custodians for whom you will be independently in charge of all securities reconciliation matters.


Your responsibilities:

  • Daily reconciliation of recorded internal securities balances against positions reported by external custodians
  • Detailed investigation of differences incl. the identification of the root cause, the allocation to the internal/external stakeholder that caused the difference and close follow-up until the difference is solved
  • Regular reporting of reconciliation status for each custodian
  • Maintaining strong and effectively working connections to internal and external counterparties and understanding how they operate
  • Contributing to a continuous improvement of our services and processes

 

Your profile:

  • University degree in finance, business administration or similar field of studies
  • Previous working experience in finance or administration, including reconciliation tasks is an advantage
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office 365 (cloud based - incl. SharePoint, OneDrive, MS Teams)
  • Good analytical skills and detail orientation (e. g. ability to analyze complex financial processes linked to settlement, corporate actions, income, etc.)
  • Technical affinity (understanding and working with complex inhouse IT systems)
  • Responsible team player with capability to adapt and to quickly acquire new working methodologies
  • Independent trouble shooter, fast learner and stress-resistant
  • Curiosity to understand how the financial markets operates and willingness for continuous learning to improve skills and knowledge
