Java Developer (Clearing IT) (f/m/d)

As a financial marketplace organizer, the company provides a portfolio of services covering the entire process chain: securities and derivatives trading and clearing, netting and transaction settlement, custody and provision of market information. Information Technology designs, builds and operates the technological infrastructure of the company. These highly integrated and automated IT systems are essential to our success. 

We are looking for a skilled backend software developer to join our IT development center in Prague and help us improve, maintain and optimize the functionality and technology of our systems. 

The application that you will develop is a client self-service platform designed to streamline how banking clients are registered to Eurex Clearing AG and allow for flexible/agile changes to their membership. The application provides the challenge of understanding cross department process flows and inter application connectivity with multiple interfaces. Data integrity, reliability, performance and user experience play a crucial role for us and our customers.  

Your responsibilities: 

• Understand the system designs and take responsibility in extending the application design 
• Analyze production incidents, tickets and propose solutions 
• Identify issues in data and fix data by creating and applying patches in database 
• Migrating existing data into new structures 
• Data structure optimization and fine tuning 
• Code refactoring and debugging 
• Proactively seek for performance issues and bottlenecks 
• Develop new application features, extend existing features and deliver fixes 

Your profile: 

• Required knowledge and experience: Java, SQL (Oracle), JPA, Spring Framework, Git, Linux, bash 
• Excellent software analytical skills and design thinking 
• Critical thinking, the ability to identify problems and propose solutions 
• Data modelling skills, data structure optimization and tuning skills 
• Fluent in written and spoken English 
• University degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional qualification or experience 
• Proactive in communication and collaboration within the team of developers and testers 
• Ability to discuss project topics and solutions with business stakeholders and analysts 
• Ability to present and demonstrate developed features
