Head of Unit Virtualization Services (f/m/d)

Your area of work

Core Infrastructure has the responsibility for the Networks, Data Center and Virtualization services for Deutsche Börse Group. We operate out of Frankfurt, Luxembourg, Prague, Chicago and Zürich.

We are looking for a Manager for the Virtualization Services unit. In this role, you will lead a team of 6 persons based in Frankfurt, Luxembourg, Prague and Zürich. The team you will manage is responsible for the provision and operation of the VMware based systems virtualization infrastructure for Deutsche Börse Group.

Your responsibilities

• Manage effectively a team distributed across several locations.
• Hire, mentor and motivate people to achieve productivity and engagement. Evaluate employees performance.
• Ensure the day-to-day activities are executed in a timely manner, according to the highest standards, ensuring high service delivery levels and customer satisfaction.
• Drive the continuous improvement of service delivery quality through efficient processes and procedures, report on operational performance and suggest improvements.
• Drive innovation and transformation of the systems virtualization infrastructure.
• Oversee the implementation of technology solutions.
• Lead new initiatives and projects. Define and control tasks, deliverables and timelines, with the ability to estimate effort and to determine the optimal staffing assignments.
• Oversee expenses and budgeting to help the organization optimize costs and benefits.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, local and international laws and regulations, participate to internal and external audit exercises.

Your profile

• University degree or similar in an IT related discipline.
• Relevant professional experience is a required, preferably five years or more.
• Prior work experience as a team lead is a strong advantage.
• Deep understanding and operating experience of VMware vSphere. Knowledge of other VMware products inside the VMware Cloud Foundation portfolio is a plus.
• Knowledge of other virtualization technologies such as Nutanix is a plus.
• Very good understanding of information security concepts and tools.
• Extremely curious about modern technology and cloud.
• Highly organized, strong communication capabilities.
• High commitment to quality. High self-responsibility and ownership.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English. French or German language skills would be considered an asset.
