Head of Unit - Google Cloud Platform Engineering (f/m/d)

Your area of work

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) area is at the heart of the Information Technology division of Deutsche Börse Group. The CTO area develops and operates the group-wide IT infrastructure (network, data centers and Cloud), the Group Data & Advanced Analytics and the Enterprise Architecture which significantly contribute to Deutsche Börse Group overall strategy. The CTO area drives digital transformation and leverages innovation while keeping production operations stable are the core pillars of the shared services.

Within the CTO Area, Cloud / Core Infrastructure department enables the usage of public cloud services from Microsoft and Google and provides core infrastructure services such as data center management and non-trading network operations.

You will drive the transformation of modern technologies and infrastructure in a highly regulated capital markets environment; advance innovation and contribute to Deutsche Börse Group’s overall strategy.

Your responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of GCP engineers
• Closely align and cooperate with Azure and Google Cloud Platform Engineering Teams
• Operate and monitor the DBG Google cloud platform from an automation, availability, security and performance aspect
• Steer, architect, evolve, and improve the overall security posture for the DBG Google cloud platform
• Work closely with Information Security, Enterprise Architecture, Engineering, and Emergency Response teams
• Supporting your team by taking part in on-call rotation
• Advise the different product teams within DBG with deep technical know-how in their efforts of securing cloud workloads
• Share and exchange knowledge and expertise within DBG
• Expectation to be hands on and contribute to engineering activities

Your profile

• University degree related to Information Technology, Cyber Security, or other technical degree
• Proficiency in written and spoken English
• At least 3 years’ experience in a management capacity
• Solid understanding and experience in IT Operations and of cloud computing concepts with strong GCP experience and knowledge
• Ideally relevant GCP certifications
• Knowledge in Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, Packer, Ansible
• Knowledge in agile working practices (Scrum, Kanban etc.)
• Understanding of information security concepts and tools,
• Extremely curious about modern technology and cloud
• Highly organized, and strong communication capabilities and team orientation
• Independent work method, high commitment to quality, and high self-responsibility & ownership
