As part of the Cyber Protection – Detect & Prevent unit, you will join a highly skilled, geographically distributed team of cybersecurity specialists based in Eschborn, Luxembourg, Prague, and Hyderabad.

 

The cryptography expert will provide deep technical expertise in cryptographic protocols, and algorithms to support the development, implementation, and evaluation of secure systems and applications. This role involves working closely with cybersecurity teams, application owners, and other stakeholders to ensure robust security design, compliance with standards, and resilience against evolving threats.

 

 

Your responsibilities:

 

  • Support the design, engineering, evaluation, and implementation of cryptographic algorithms, protocols, and architectures.
  • Provide expert guidance on encryption, key management, digital signatures, secure communication protocols (e.g., TLS, IPsec), and cryptographic libraries (e.g., OpenSSL).
  • Collaborate with operational teams to integrate cryptography into secure software and hardware solutions.
  • Conduct risk assessments.
  • Stay current with emerging cryptographic trends, standards (e.g., NIST, ISO), and post-quantum cryptography developments.
  • Provide training and mentorship to technical teams on cryptographic concepts and best practices.
  • Author and review procedures, technical documentation, whitepapers, and security policies.
  • Liaise with external auditors, or partners, as a cryptographic authority when needed.
  • Actively engage in broad cybersecurity topics, with a continuous drive to stay informed and contribute to industry best practices.

 

 

Your profile:

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience in applied cryptography, cryptanalysis, or information security.
  • Strong understanding of symmetric and asymmetric cryptography (e.g., AES, RSA, ECC).
  • Experience with cryptographic protocols and libraries.
  • Familiarity with key management systems and hardware security modules (HSMs).
  • Solid foundation in security engineering and/or architecture.
  • Knowledge of/experience with PKI and Cloud.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail combined with an analytical mindset and outstanding problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex cryptographic and technical concepts clearly and confidently to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is required; German language skills are a strong plus.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams; a genuine team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly motivated, adaptable, and flexible, with a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.
