Cloud DevOps Engineer (f/m/d)

Date: 24 Jan 2025

Location: Prague, CZ

Company: Deutsche Börse Group

Area of work:

In Risk (a semi-independent Product of Deutsche Börse) we focus on making Eurex Clearing the industry leader in Risk Services / CCP Risk Management and to support the growth into new products and markets. We are at the heart of the Deutsche Börse Group’s market infrastructure offering and of utter importance for the stability of the global financial market.

For our Cloud Engineering Team we are looking for a passionate DevOps/System Engineer or a Developer with an interest in working on infrastructure and developer-workflow automation.

Our Team's mission is to oversee the entire build process -- from helping with application design decisions within the Risk IT department, through cloud infrastructure and architecture, to ensuring seamless deployment in both development and production environments. We are known for providing unparalleled opportunities for growth and learning.

We are a mixed group of colleagues with different backgrounds (academia, front and back-end development, python developer) and use each other’s knowledge to learn from each other. PR reviews are never a “click through” matter.

For our daily tooling, we focus on using industry standards (CNCF products) and best-in class approaches (GitOps, cloud-first, microservices, automated testing, observability, etc.), and make technology decisions with an expert view. We operate strictly within the GitSecOps framework; Git, YAML, HCL, or JSON will be your daily bread and butter. There is no room for manual work, everything is automated and orchestrated through GitHub, with a continuous focus on reducing toil.

Our dedicated GitHub bot will assist you throughout your journey, and you'll frequently engage in PR approvals. If you're tired of manual tasks and deployments, you'll thrive here, as all deployments are fully automated and triggered via GitHub.

Your responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure as code for provisioning and managing cloud resources
  • Collaborate with related IT teams to implement best practices for continuous integration, continuous deployment, and infrastructure as code
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to OpenShift/Kubernetes, microservices, Docker, ensuring a stable production environment
  • Mentor developers on automating build of application code using GitHub Actions
  • Partner with engineering teams to be a “trusted advisor” for DevOps and play an evangelist role for the Risk IT department
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide support during incidents as needed (on-call is roughly one week every two months)

Your profile:

  • Understanding of cloud, automation, and infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles and practices, passion for automation
  • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or RedHat OpenShift
  • Proven experience with supporting development and deployment automations
  • Comfortable working in Linux environments and git
  • Have excellent problem-solving skills utilizing both internal and external resources to get the job done. Work through issues and challenges
  • Ability to communicate in verbal and written English
  • Self-starter and motivator and ability to work in team and solo
