Your Area of Work

The Master Data Management team ensures the quality, integrity and effective governance of Customer and Supplier Business Partner data across Deutsche Börse Group. As a Business Partner Data Governance & SAP MDG Specialist, you will combine practical Master Data expertise, hands-on data analysis and solid functional knowledge of SAP Business Partner and SAP MDG processes.

The role focuses on governance, data analysis, process improvement, automation, external data validation and SAP MDG functional development. Acting as a bridge between business and IT, you will help shape SAP MDG as the system of record for Business Partner Master Data. The position is not focused on routine Business Partner maintenance.

 

Your Responsibilities

Governance and Data Quality

  • Develop Business Partner data standards, business rules, ownership, validation controls and data quality KPIs.
  • Identify critical data elements, authoritative sources and preventive and detective controls.
  • Investigate recurring issues and define sustainable corrective and preventive measures.

Data Analysis and Insights

  • Perform hands-on analysis of Customer and Supplier Master Data, including profiling, trend, exception, duplicate and root-cause analysis.
  • Analyze data quality results, workflow performance, rejection reasons and recurring patterns across SAP MDG and connected systems.
  • Translate analytical findings into clear conclusions, dashboards and actionable recommendations for governance, process and system improvements.

SAP MDG and Process Improvement

  • Analyze and improve Business Partner lifecycle processes, SAP MDG change requests, workflows, validations, derivations, duplicate checks and replication.
  • Translate business and governance needs into functional requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Support solution design, testing, implementation, backlog prioritization and transition into stable operations.

External Data, Automation and Integration

  • Evaluate external sources for Business Partner validation and enrichment, including source precedence and exception handling.
  • Identify opportunities to automate validations, controls and workflow activities.
  • Participate in discussions on architecture, interfaces, APIs, data flows and replication with SAP MDG IT and solution architects.

Business and IT Collaboration

  • Work with Data Owners, Data Stewards, business stakeholders, SAP MDG IT and solution architects.
  • Review and challenge business and technical proposals from a Master Data, governance and data quality perspective.
  • Maintain clear separation between data ownership, stewardship, functional ownership and IT technical ownership.

 

Your Profile

Mandatory Experience and Knowledge

  • Several years of relevant experience in Customer and/or Supplier Master Data Management, Business Partner Data Governance, SAP MDG functional consulting or a comparable role.
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience with Customer and Supplier Master Data in a complex SAP environment.
  • Solid functional knowledge of SAP MDG Business Partner processes, including workflows, validations, derivations, duplicate checks and replication.
  • Practical experience analyzing data, identifying patterns and root causes, and drawing evidence-based conclusions.
  • Experience defining data standards, data quality rules, KPIs, controls and monitoring requirements.
  • Ability to translate business and governance requirements into functional specifications, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Understanding of integrations, interfaces, APIs, data flows and the impact of Business Partner changes on connected processes and systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills for data analysis; experience with Power BI, SQL, SAP Analytics Cloud or comparable analytical tools is an advantage.

  • Confidence to challenge assumptions and proposed solutions constructively.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; German or Czech is an advantage.

Education

  • University degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, Data Management or a comparable discipline. Equivalent relevant professional experience may also be considered.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with duplicate prevention, matching, survivor selection and controlled consolidation.
  • SAP S/4HANA Business Partner integration, Customer/Vendor Integration, data migration or cleansing experience.
  • Experience with external reference providers, automated validation or enrichment solutions.
