AI Backend Engineer (f/m/d)

Big Data & Advanced Analytics provides infrastructure and services to enable the development of data science, analytics, and big data solutions across the value chain served by Deutsche Börse Group. We standardize and automate processes using modern technologies and frameworks.

Our flagship AI/LLM application leverages a library of custom prompts, Retrieval Augmentation Generation (RAG), and other advanced techniques to enhance employee efficiency. We are seeking a passionate backend developer who brings fresh and innovative ideas and enjoys designing and building cutting-edge AI applications.

In this role, you will join a growing and diverse team of experts, covering topics ranging from defining the overall application architecture, building new features, ensuring scalability and reliability, to communicating with stakeholders in one of the largest exchanges in the world.

Your responsibilities:

• Lead the technical development of the current and future AI applications
• Perform hands-on development of new features and enhancements
• Coordinate tasks between backend and frontend developers using Agile methodology
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions
• Write and maintain technical documentation
• Promote and demonstrate the application to interested parties

Your profile:

• At least 2 years of experience development of backend applications.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with (Azure) OpenAI API
• Solid command of Django and Django Rest Framework
• Understanding of HTTP semantics and REST API design principles
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services, particularly AI Search and Document Intelligence
• Knowledge of GitHub Actions, Azure Kubernetes, Docker and Docker Compose
• Keen interest in emerging GenAI techniques, such as agentic frameworks
• Experience in LangChain, LangGraph, Pytest, Ruff, and Celery is a plus
• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing backend architectures, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security
• Team player willing to collaborate with colleagues across various office locations and functions
• Strong English language and excellent communication and collaboration skills
