Your area of work:

As a VAT specialist – Indirect Tax, you will work on a broad range of VAT matters and contribute to tax‑driven projects for the Luxembourg-based entities of Deutsche Börse Group, including their foreign branches and support VAT compliance activities for a Swiss group entity. You will collaborate closely with the existing team of tax specialists around the world, and collaborate with various internal stakeholders including Accounting, Billing, Legal, IT and Controlling. You will contribute to process improvements, support strategic tax initiatives, and act as a trusted advisor in a dynamic, international environment.

 

Your responsibilities:

  • Preparation and review of periodic and annual VAT filings in accordance with national legislation for entities established in Luxembourg an abroad, including the calculation of input VAT ratios.
  • Support month‑end and year‑end closing processes, including VAT-related reconciliations and provisions.
  • Coordinate tax audits and inquiries with local tax authorities.
  • Handle complex VAT-related matters across the organization and provide practical recommendations.
  • Support the enhancement of VAT‑relevant processes, tools and controls, including further development of VAT functionalities in SAP S/4HANA.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (Accounting, Legal, IT, Controlling) and external advisors.
  • Monitor and assess changes in VAT legislation, guidelines, and jurisprudence; evaluate their impact and provide guidance accordingly.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing within the tax function and provide in‑house training on VAT matters.

 

Your profile:

  • University degree in business administration, economics, law or a related field, ideally with a focus on tax.
  • Further qualification as a tax advisor (or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • Proven track record (+3 years) in VAT compliance, ideally within the financial services industry or a shared service organization.
  • Understanding of ERP systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA); experience in process automation is considered an advantage.
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical skills and a proactive, solution‑oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages are an asset.
  • Highly motivated, flexible team player with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
