Your area of work:

You will be based in Luxembourg and be part of our tax team, primarily in charge of the Luxembourg based entities of Group Deutsche Börse (direct tax) including their foreign branches. You will work closely with the existing team of tax specialists based mainly in Luxembourg and Germany and collaborate with other relevant stakeholders, including Accounting, Billing and Controlling.

 

Your responsibilities:

  • Supporting the corporate tax function with the direct tax compliance related to our Luxembourg Group companies, including corporate tax returns, WHT declarations and tax assessments;
  • Support with the monthly closing, i.e. calculation of tax provisions for current and deferred taxes under LuxGAAP, IFRS and Pillar 2, and related tax accounting adjustments;
  • Support on specific tax related matters such as the Luxembourg IP box regime, R&D incentives in Luxembourg (Investment Tax Credit for digital innovation) and abroad;
  • Be a contact person for domestic and foreign Group companies regarding direct tax related queries, be part in ad hoc projects and assess, evaluate and advise on local and international direct tax issues including preparation / review of professional tax memorandums;
  • Supporting international projects such as intra-group restructurings and assisting in the assessment of operational implications and providing practical advice;
  • Coordinate with local tax authorities, statutory and internal auditors;
  • Reviewing and monitoring changes in tax legislations, regulations, and litigations;
  • Proactively identifying, and reporting tax risks throughout the Group;
  • Implement, monitor and update existing processes including automated controls in SAP S/4HANA to enhance efficiency and to ensure tax compliance;
  • Be willing to support on indirect tax and transfer pricing related topics, if required.

 

Your profile:

  • Degree in business administration, economics or law, ideally with a major in tax;
  • Ideally post-graduate tax degree;
  • Professional knowledge of the Luxembourg and European tax environment and experience in working with local tax authorities;
  • Experience in Luxembourg GAAP, IFRS and deferred taxation;
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience as a tax professional preparing and reviewing corporate tax returns for Luxembourg companies. (A big 4 experience is an advantage);
  • Be able to understand IT related projects, liaise with people from various professional backgrounds and to translate their input into a tax/legal view. 
  • Familiarity with the tax challenges within an international organization;
  • Chamber of Commerce Cycle A and Cycle B Diplomas (or their English equivalent);
  • Fluent in English and ideally good comprehension of German or French;
  • Proficiency in SAP or comparable systems and MS Office, in particular strong Excel skills.

 

Additionally, you need to be a team player with good communication skills, highly motivated, flexible and a pro-active self-starter.
