The Collateral, Lending & Liquidity Solutions (CLLS) team’s main objective is to provide clients with a broad suite of collateral management, securities lending, repo, liquidity, banking, and FX solutions. Through these services, we help financial institutions optimise balance sheet utilisation, unlock funding and financing opportunities, improve portfolio returns, and manage risk in increasingly complex financial markets.

Joining a dynamic, international team of dedicated and experienced people as an Associate Vice President within the CLLS Business Development team, you will be responsible for originating new business opportunities, developing strategic client relationships, and driving commercial growth across the franchise, focusing primarily on Sovereign & Supranational Institutions.

Your responsibilities:

  • Originate, develop, and convert new business opportunities across the CLLS product suite, including securities lending, collateral management, repo, banking, and FX solutions.

  • Maintain ownership of the business development pipeline within the assigned segment, supporting forecasting, budgeting, and business planning activities.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers across sovereign wealth funds, central banks, supranational institutions, and other strategic market participants.

  • Develop a deep understanding of client investment strategies, reserve management objectives, funding requirements, and balance sheet priorities.

  • Expand and monetise the CLLS client franchise through proactive prospecting, networking, and relationship development.

  • Generate and maintain a robust pipeline, taking ownership of opportunity development, transaction origination, and successful conversion into revenue-generating client activity.

  • Identify and broker opportunities between market participants by matching lenders, borrowers, collateral providers, and investors, facilitating new transaction flows across the CLLS ecosystem.

  • Work closely with the Securities Lending Trading Desk to identify market opportunities, generate trade ideas, originate transactions, and develop financing solutions that align client demand with available market liquidity.

  • Channel client demand, opportunities, and market intelligence into the trading and product functions, helping to create new lending, borrowing, financing, and collateral opportunities across the franchise.

  • Collaborate closely with regional sales and relationship managers to deliver impactful client solutions.

  • Monitor market developments, regulatory changes, and industry trends, identifying opportunities to expand the firm’s market presence and revenue base.

  • Represent Clearstream at industry conferences, client events, market forums, and working groups.

  • Deliver presentations to clients, prospects, and industry participants, positioning Clearstream as a trusted partner and market leader.

  • Contribute to thought leadership, market commentary, and client material.

  • Travel internationally to support client engagement, relationship development, and business growth initiatives.

Your profile:

  • 5–10 years of experience within securities finance, securities lending, repo, collateral management, funding, liquidity, treasury, FX, or related financial markets activities.

  • Demonstrated ability to originate opportunities, build senior relationships, and contribute to revenue generation.

  • Strong commercial mindset with a genuine interest in business development, sales, and transaction origination.

  • Experience working with sovereign wealth funds, central banks, reserve managers, supranational institutions, or other official sector clients would be a significant advantage.

  • Proven ability to network effectively, open doors with prospective clients, and convert relationships into commercial opportunities.

  • Comfortable discussing market dynamics, financing requirements, investment activity, and portfolio strategies with senior market participants.

  • Self-motivated and capable of operating independently with a high degree of accountability.

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders and representing the firm externally.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the energy and determination to build new business opportunities.

  • Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • Strong analytical skills, capable of translating market intelligence into actionable commercial opportunities.

  • Comfortable working across multiple products, client segments, and geographies.

  • Maintains an active interest in financial markets, macroeconomics, and geopolitics.

  • Fluent English is essential. Additional business-level languages would be highly advantageous.

  • Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis.
