MS SQL Server Developer / DBA (f/m/d)

Field of activity

The Data Architecture team is responsible for the data architecture of our index application landscape and the data governance across the systems.

You will support the team in enhancing the MS SQL Server database environment by developing new functions and procedures, working on the data model and administering the different installations. You will also be part of the team taking the overall data landscape to the next level introducing new technologies and a new data architecture.

 

Tasks/responsibilities

  • Develop database procedures and functions to enhance the application suite
  • Develop and maintain data centric solutions in response to varied business problems
  • Improve, maintain and support existing database environments and solutions
  • Ensure good performance of the database and dependent applications
  • Ensure the integrity, security and accuracy of the database environment
  • Refine and improve the data model based on incoming requirements
  • Participate in the redesign of the overall data architecture
  • Enable existing MS SQL database environment to work with the new data architecture

 

Qualifications/required skills

  • Highly experienced in SQL Server 2014 Database Development and Administration
  • Strong T-SQL skills (writing queries, building stored procedures, functions)
  • Experience with database performance improvements and security concepts
  • Experience with MS BI stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) and Data Modelling
  • Experience with Python, Apache Spark, Hadoop, MAPR and other new technologies
  • Expertise in the domain of Data and Information best practices in Financial Services
  • Domain knowledge of the index business (security reference data, pricing data, corporate action processing, operational index life cycle) or similar domain
  • Highly self-motivated, self-directed and attentive to details
  • Creative problem solver with an aptitude for complex technical work
  • The ability to positively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English; German language skills are an asset
  • Willingness to travel on a periodic basis to the different team locations
