As a central securities depository (CSD) headquartered in Frankfurt/Main, Clearstream Banking AG operates the post-trading business – i.e. issuance, settlement and custody – for German securities.

 

Your area of work

As a working student (f/m/d) you will support and work closely with the team of Custody & Investor Solutions. In addition to topics from the Custody & Investor Solutions (CIS) department, you will support supports from the Clearstream Banking AG management board. The Custody and Investor Solution (CIS) department is responsible for the management and further development of all products and services in the areas of Asset Servicing, Tax, Settlement, Target Services Governance, Global Markets and Network Management.
CIS provides services through all Clearstream entities, ensuring clients have the flexibility to meet their business requirements. Essentially allowing direct access to T2S in Central Bank Money from Clearstream accounts as well as settlement in Commercial Bank Money through the international central securities depository (ICSD), along with top-tier asset servicing.

 

Your responsibilities:

  • As a member of the team, you will support and work closely on governance topics for Clearstream Banking AG and developing, managing, planning and reporting of strategic initiatives and projects within Investor & Custody Solutions (CIS)
  • In addition, you will be dealing with the day-to-day tasks that are required to ensure the smooth running of the CIS department like content creation and planning of meetings, workshops, and projects
  • Support the creation of reporting documents (e.g. PowerPoint presentations, Word documents, Excel analysis, other planning and steering instruments) and assuring quality, correctness and on time delivery of sub-elements for reporting and presentations

 

Your profile: 

  • You are enrolled during the entire period of activity at a state-recognized university as a regular student (pursuing a degree in economics, business studies, law or other relevant fields), have completed at least 4 semesters and ideally have already gained first practical experience through internships in other multinational companies
  • You have demonstrated strong interest in the financial and capital markets industry (ideally, with a focus on post-trade)
  • You enjoy working in a team and collaborating with colleagues of different backgrounds and skillsets. At the same time, your ability to work independently and very good analytical skills help you to quickly familiarise yourself with new topics
  • You can complete complex tasks in a short time frame and manage multiple deadlines independently. While in your work you have the big picture in mind you are very well organized and have an excellent attention to detail
  • You are passionate for continuous improvement – we are seeking someone who loves to think about how to make things better, faster, and more effective
  • You have very good knowledge in the Microsoft 365 (especially MS Excel/PowerPoint/Share-Point) including automation of tasks
  • You are fluent in spoken and written English; additional German language skills are an advantage
