Intern / Student Assistant - Default Management - Risk Department (f/m/d)
Start:  | Duration: 3-6 with 39 hours per week (Internship) / 6-12 with 15-19 hours per week (Student Assistant) (in months) | Full-time 

Field of Activity

The Default Management team (DMP) of Eurex Clearing is responsible of handling the default of one of our Clearing members. During such an event, our traders will need to liquidate swiftly the portfolios of the defaulted bank. To achieve this goal, we need precise operational processes, as well as stable and efficient tools. As an intern/student in the DMP team, you will participate in the enhancement and the creation of such tools and processes as part of long term projects. Additionally, you will support our daily activities in evaluating our potential market and counterparty risk. By directly working within the DMP team, you will be at the heart of the central counterparty, and therefore gain a good insight in capital markets, from a trading and clearing point of view, but also knowledge about market regulations and risk measurement.



  • Support the trading desk during liquidation/simulation of liquidation process
  • Support trading tools maintenance, enhancement and creation
  • Participate in the Default Management process amendment/enhancement
  • Make yourself and your team mates aware of relevant market news
  • Regular maintenance tasks (clients contact list/Bloomberg infrastructure etc…)


Qualifications/required skills

  • Students must be enrolled in an academic program recognized by the state during their internship
  • Hold a Bachelor degree or equivalent
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English –German optional
  • Competent handling of MS-Office applications - MS Access knowledge is a plus
  • Programming skills (VBA, SQL, java especially) and knowledge in Bloomberg/Reuters is a plus
  • Previous experience in market finance/risk is recommended
  • Proactivity, curiosity, and team working ability – appetence for market finance and risk
