Financial Risk Manager (f/m/d)

Field of activity

Financial Risk is responsible for the assessment, quantification and reporting of financial risks for Deutsche Börse Group. In your new role your primary responsibilities include a) enhancing the methodology for measuring financial risks and capital requirements, b) risk assessments and data analysis/analytics to support the review and challenge of the risk position, c) regular and ad-hoc risk reporting to management and regulatory authorities and d) maintaining the risk management policies and procedures.



  • Manage the development, deployment and ongoing maintenance of enterprise risk management policies and procedures to effectively manage and oversee the group’s risk framework
  • Design and continuously improve financial risk models to assess credit, market and liquidity risks
  • Calculate Pillar II economic capital requirements and perform capital planning
  • Independently perform risk assessments and data analysis/analytics
  • Deliver insightful management information in support of senior management and committee review
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities
  • Create regular and ad-hoc risk reports


Qualifications/required skills

  • Graduate degree in a financial or quantitative discipline
  • Good understanding of financial markets and financial products as well as the regulatory landscape (e.g. MaRisk and CRR)
  • Experience with financial risk models and broader risk analytics approaches (e.g. VaR, stress testing)
  • Sound knowledge of statistical and econometric methods and their application
  • Well-developed analytical skills, as well as high results orientation and good communication skills
  • Efficient team player with a high degree of organizational self-reliance
  • Excellent command of MS office, experience with analytics & business intelligence software (e.g. Qlik) would be an advantage
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and German
