Field of activity
Your work will be an important contribution to ensure highly reliable operation and smooth introduction of performance and functional improvements in the infrastructure of the T7 trading system, which is crucial for our derivatives and cash markets Eurex and Xetra. T7 is combining high-performance server and networking infrastructure with an in-house developed C++ based distributed application. The main production instance runs on about 200 servers and contains around 1500 processes. 


Tasks/responsibilities

  • In your position you act at the interface between the application development and project functions on the one side and the operations teams (application, server and network infrastructure) on the other side
  • Follow up on observed irregularities in the production environment 
  • Your task is to understand how application requirements translate into infrastructure changes, and how advances in infrastructure can provide opportunities for development
  • Define and execute introduction strategies of technical changes in collaboration with the affected teams 

 

Qualifications/required skills

  • University degree in a STEM field
  • Very good analytical skills identifying root causes in complex systems
  • Advanced user and basic administration skills in Linux and networking 
  • Experience programming for data analysis (e.g. python, R)
  • Good communication skills
  • Coordination of activities between different teams
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Ability to work in a critical production environment
  • Willingness to take over responsibility
  • Willingness to gain expertise on new technologies
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
