Field of activity

Cash Markets Operations is responsible for robust (safe, regulatory-conform & efficient) delivery of services to our customers in Deutsche Börse Cash Markets (Frankfurt Stock Exchange market places: Xetra & Börse Frankfurt) and partner exchanges (mainly around Europe) by running the day-to-day business. It ensures safe and orderly trading and runs the customer helpdesks for related trading services.
As a Market Control Specialist, you will be in the heart of financial markets as part of the team that (a) supports capital market participants in all functional-related questions, (b) performs quality assurance of trading-related data, (c) accompanies system and market model changes as well as (d) handles exceptional situations in a very dynamic, deadline-driven environment.



  • Strive in a dynamic market operations environment that ensures smooth functioning of markets within the framework of the aforementioned topics
  • Monitor trading activities in cash market trading systems
  • Perform trading suspensions and resumptions
  • Perform quality assurance of trading-related data
  • Day-to-day support of trading community (especially traders & system developers) in all functional questions with regards to market models, financial instruments and other trading-related topics
  • Participation in Deutsche Börse Group-wide trading system release projects to ensure smooth functioning of Operations after implementation
  • Participation/setup/coordination of team-internal optimization initiatives, which focus on continuous improvement through Process Streamlining, Digitization and Automation according to the underlying principles of quality and efficient Operations (keywords: lean, six sigma) including implementation of selected Operations 4.0 megatrends (e.g. scalability through API-compatibility, analytics-enabled & modular platforms, artificial intelligence)

Qualifications/required skills:

  • University degree in finance/economics with very good to good results, optimally combined with technical subjects
  • General interest in understanding underlying drivers of capital markets; fascination by day-to-day dynamics of financial markets operations
  • Knowledge of trading market models and systems of the Deutsche Börse Cash Markets is an advantage
  • Structured way of working, ability to perform routine but complex tasks with no or low error rate
  • Ability to articulate complex cases clearly and precisely, especially in stressful situations
  • Willingness to acquire technical skills and interest in latest technologies is welcome
  • Ability to quickly integrate into a multi-cultural & multi-language team & become a reliable team member
  • Fluent written and spoken English and German; further languages will be an advantage
