We are looking for a highly skilled SAP Order-to-Cash (O2C) Functional Architect, with mandatory SAP SD certification and strong integration expertise across FI and Revenue Accounting and Reporting (RAR), to join our Corporate IT team in Cork.
A key success factor for this role is strong end-to-end integration expertise, particularly with Salesforce (CRM) and Workday (Finance/HR platforms), ensuring seamless O2C processes across the enterprise landscape.
Corporate IT is the enterprise IT backbone of Deutsche Börse Group, supporting global business functions and delivering critical platforms including customer and vendor master data, financial systems, and data warehouses. This role sits at the intersection of business architecture, SAP S/4HANA transformation, and cloud integration, with a strong emphasis on billing, revenue recognition, and compliance-driven financial processes within Financial Services.
As a Functional Architect, you will lead the design and evolution of end-to-end O2C processes in S/4HANA, ensuring seamless integration across Sales & Distribution (SD), Finance (FI), Revenue Accounting and Reporting (RAR), and external platforms such as Salesforce and Workday to support compliant and automated revenue recognition aligned with IFRS standards.
You will also support our hybrid cloud strategy using SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), enabling modern integration and extensibility patterns.
Your Responsibilities:
Solution Architecture & Design
- Own and lead the end-to-end SAP O2C architecture, covering SD, FI, and RAR integration within S/4HANA.
- Define and govern integration architecture across SAP, Salesforce (Lead/Opportunity to Order), and Workday (financial processing and reporting).
- Design scalable solutions for billing, invoicing, contract-based revenue, and event-based revenue recognition.
- Define architectural patterns for integrating SD billing outputs into RAR, including performance obligations (POBs) and revenue allocation.
- Ensure alignment with IFRS 15 / ASC 606 compliance requirements through robust RAR design.
Business Engagement & Process Design
- Lead requirements gathering and design workshops with Finance, Billing, Customer Operations, and CRM stakeholders.
- Drive end-to-end process design across:
Lead → Opportunity (Salesforce) → Order (SAP SD) → Billing → Revenue Recognition → Financial Posting (FI / Workday) - Translate complex business requirements into standard SAP solutions leveraging SD, FI, and RAR capabilities, supported by robust cross-system integrations.
- Identify opportunities for process harmonization and automation across the O2C lifecycle.
Implementation & Integration
- Oversee and guide SAP SD configuration and billing processes, ensuring optimal integration into FI, RAR, and external platforms.
- Design and implement:
- SD → FI integration (account determination, AR posting, tax handling)
- SD → RAR integration (revenue contracts, fulfillment events, contract modifications)
- RAR → FI integration (revenue postings, deferred revenue, adjustments)
- Salesforce → SAP integration (opportunity, contract, and order orchestration)
- SAP → Workday integration (financial postings, reconciliation, reporting alignment)
- Ensure scalable API-first and event-driven integration patterns leveraging SAP BTP Integration Suite.
- Guide development teams on enhancements, APIs, middleware, and BTP-based integrations supporting O2C and RAR.
Agile Delivery & Innovation
- Participate in and lead agile delivery teams, focusing on incremental value delivery in O2C and revenue processes.
- Champion modern integration patterns (API-driven, event-based, cloud-native) across SAP, Salesforce, and Workday ecosystems.
- Contribute to architecture standards, reusable templates, and design governance.
Operations & Collaboration
- Collaborate across Cork, Frankfurt, and Luxembourg teams to deliver and support O2C and revenue solutions.
- Work closely with Salesforce and Workday stakeholders to ensure data consistency and process alignment.
- Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for billing, integration, and revenue recognition issues.
- Ensure data integrity, reconciliation, and audit readiness across SD, FI, RAR, and integrated systems.
Your Profile:
Core Requirements
- SAP Certified in SD (mandatory).
- Strong expertise in FI integration (SAP FI certification nice to have).
- Proven hands-on experience or certification in SAP Revenue Accounting and Reporting (RAR).
- Strong hands-on experience integrating SAP with Salesforce and Workday (mandatory).
- 8+ years of SAP experience, including significant exposure to O2C and revenue recognition processes.
- Experience as a Functional Lead or Solution Architect in S/4HANA implementations or transformations.
Functional & Technical Expertise
- Deep expertise in:

- Workday integration (financials, accounting interfaces, reporting)
- APIs, middleware, and event-driven architectures
- Experience with:
- Contract-based and usage-based billing scenarios
- Complex revenue scenarios in regulated or financial environments
- Solid knowledge of:
- Master Data (Business Partner, Customer, Material)
- Cross-system integration and data synchronization
- SAP BTP Integration Suite and extensibility frameworks
- Working knowledge of ABAP and extensibility frameworks (BADIs, APIs).
Professional Skills
- Strong architecture and solution design mindset, with focus on scalability, compliance, and performance.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across Finance, IT, and CRM domains.
- Proven ability to bridge business and technical domains, especially across SAP, Salesforce, and Workday ecosystems.
- Experience with agile (Scrum) and hybrid delivery models (JIRA, GitHub desirable).
- High degree of analytical thinking, ownership, and ability to work independently.
Additional Assets
- Experience in Financial Services or other regulated industries.
- Exposure to IFRS 15 / ASC 606 revenue recognition frameworks.
- Experience with SAP BRIM, subscription or usage-based billing models.
- SAP FI certification (nice to have).
- German and/or French language skills are a plus.
