Business Project Manager - Investment Funds Services

Clearstream's Investment Funds Services is the market-leading provider of fund processing services in Europe and acts as the largest true one-stop-shop in the area of 3rd party funds services. Vestima bundles Clearstream’s entire suite of investment fund services providing order routing, settlement and asset servicing for mutual funds, exchange traded funds (ETFs) and alternative funds. Clearstream Fund Centre (CFC) offering complements Vestima to include distribution support services and to provide direct access to a fund research solution. This service provides easy and efficient access to more than 400 fund providers worldwide. 

Business Management is part of Investment Fund Services (IFS) Business Segment and is responsible for the business performance monitoring framework, management and implementation of business projects across the department. 


The Project Manager position is a key role within the Business Management area working with IFS Product and Commercial teams and also externally with Fund Operations and IT teams along with core Clearstream and DBG teams to ensure that the Mission objectives are aligned with the successful delivery of IFS, Clearstream and Deutsche Börse Group Strategic Business Plan and objectives. 


The Project Manager is responsible for the following:

  • Co-management of projects and strategic initiatives of IFS 
  • Development and validation of business plans and financial modelling
  • Preparation of presentations and analysis papers for IFS management and stakeholders
  • Guidance/implementation of analysis and various research tasks
  • Management & delivery of complex multi-stream projects/programme (i.e. one or more projects) in accordance with Project Management Methodology
  • Early identification & management of internal/external dependencies across the Project/Programme
  • Coordinate and manage the development and implementation of the business case and financial management to project close out, incl. preparation and presentation at relevant governance reviews
  • Costs and Budget administration tasks including transfers, purchase orders
  • Partner with Product Owner, Solutions Delivery Manager to continuously improve governance processes and ways of working and the overall achievement of programme/project outcomes
  • Accountable for project team adherence to delivery methodology and ensures any deviations are addressed
  • Collaborate, influence and negotiate across the organisation & externally, including external regulatory bodies and stakeholders

Experience, Qualifications & Background Ideally Required 

  • Demonstrated Project Management Interest, Acumen and Experience at a senior level in an international financial services industry environment 
  • Experience of delivery of complex projects and strong presentation skills
  • Experienced in financial and stakeholder management.
  • Experience of working on projects through the full delivery life-cycle (from project concept/initiation to closing) 
  • Ability to positively engage and develop relationships with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, good knowledge of quantitative tools and methods.
  • Self Starter, Initiative, Entrepreneurial, Flexible and Motivated; Ability to take the initiative to “achieve results” and be “Client Service Delivery” focused.
  • Flexible team player in an international environment and organisation culture across geographical locations
  • Ability to positively engage and develop relationships with multiple stakeholders; Ability to motivate others.
  • Excellent Communicator and effective Interpersonal skills including excellent oral and written English.
  • Experience with document writing

  • Professional experience in the Financial Services industry and in particular the Investment Fund Securities Services an advantage. Theoretical and practical knowledge regarding relevance and functioning of capital markets as well as in-depth understanding of business principles and processes

    • Third level qualification
    • Project Management certification, e.g. PMBOK, PRINCE2

    • Excellent command of MS office applications
    • Additional German and French language skills an asset
