Policy Advisor (f/m/d) - Energy Markets (part-/full-time)
Your tasks:
You will work full-time in the EEX EU Representation Office in Brussels, which acts as center of expertise and competence for EEX relations and dealings with policy making. The EU Representation Office is part of the larger Political & Regulatory Affairs team spread across different European locations. In line with EEX business strategy, you will work on European policy and advocacy on diverse issues of relevance to energy (derivative) markets. You will look into regulations designed to ensure the integrity of markets, such as REMIT (Regulation on Wholesale Energy Market Integrity and Transparency), security of supply in gas and power markets and the nascent hydrogen market. As part of your role, you will have a close communication line with your colleagues at EEX headquarters and support the implementation of regulatory requirements. You will report to the Head of the EU Representation, and together with your colleagues in Brussels you define EEX European policy priorities.
You will be expected to gradually grow in taking ownership of topics, for which a warm group of colleagues and experts supports you from Leipzig and other EEX locations. Your responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyse political and regulatory developments relevant for energy markets, with a specific focus on REMIT, gas markets and the 2040 energy policy framework.
Together with EEX’ experts, coordinate concrete positions on these developments, and draft background papers and briefings. Establish appropriate communication strategies. - Engage actively with stakeholders and represent EEX in a trustworthy manner towards industry associations and institutional stakeholders in Brussels.
- Support impact assessment and implementation of regulatory requirements when relevant.
- Support the organisation of informal and formal events in EEX’s EU Representation office.

Your skills:
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience
- Academically qualified in relevant fields
- Excellent command of spoken and written English, proficiency in German is a plus
- Good understanding of energy policy and law-making processes. Specific knowledge of energy markets is a plus
- Proactive and accountable style of working
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to analyse complex issues and to present these in a target group-oriented manner
