Sales Manager (f/m/d) EEX Offices Europe preferably London

The EEX is looking to recruit a Sales Manager dedicated to Freight and Emissions Markets in Europe. This key role requires an individual of an excellent calibre, able to strengthen the group’s position particularly in the freight and emissions markets, considering the upcoming inclusion of shipping emissions in the EU ETS. 
Your tasks:

  • Manage relationships with existing customers for freight and emissions, specifically within the shipping sectors. Understand customers business challenges and assist them by finding solutions and answers to their questions, by taking ownership of problem resolution.
  • Client relationship management including participation in client events and business meetings.
  • Assist to coordinate tasks for the onboarding of new members and traders.
  • Proactively originate new sales by initiating and driving regular interactions with prospects and customers at senior management level.
  • As an individual passionate about Freight and Shipping, you will develop relevant client / industry relationships to enhance awareness by participating proactively in key events and workshops. Work closely with the different stakeholders within the freight and emissions markets to unlock any new business opportunities.
  • Contribute to various sales management reports including sales plans and strategies working closely with the EEX Sales teams, Business Development and Marketing departments globally.
  • Create analysis reports on a timely basis, outlining customers’ statistics as per management request and supporting internal staff with day-to-day operations.

You bring along:

  • Proven track record in successful execution of sales, key account management and negotiations demonstrating the ability to build strong relationships in the global commodities, specifically freight and preferably emissions markets.
  • Have previous experience of exchange and clearing businesses and highly regulated environments.
  • Energetic and collaborative team-player with the ability to work towards individual and group results and with a strong client focused attitude.
  • Perfect command of written and spoken English, with good communication skills, German or any other European language is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills (presentation/written/verbal) skills – working with teams from various locations and departments, interacting with varying levels of seniority across the organization with demonstrated ability to self-organise and impeccable attention to detail.
  • The willingness to work in both office and home environments and to occasionally travel internationally.
  • Initial experience of commodity markets an advantage
  • Minimum university degree level education.
