Senior Policy Advisor (f/m/d) in EEX office Brussels

Your tasks:
You will work full-time in EEX’ EU Representation Office in Brussels, which acts as EEX center of expertise for EEX’ relations with EU institutions. The EU Representation Office is part of the larger Political & Regulatory Affairs team spread across different European locations. In line with EEX’ business strategy you will work on European policy and advocacy on diverse issues, including power markets, natural gas markets and new markets such as hydrogen. You will report to the Head of the EU Representation, and together with your colleagues in Brussels you define EEX’ European policy priorities. 
You will be expected to take ownership of your topics, for which a warm group of colleagues and experts supports you from Leipzig and other EEX’ locations. 

  • Monitor and analyse political and regulatory developments relevant for energy markets, with a specific focus on electricity market design, natural gas markets and hydrogen. 
  • Provide strategic advice and evaluation of these developments.
  • Develop positions on these developments, together with a cross-jurisdictional team, and draft the necessary background papers and briefings.  
  • Engage actively with stakeholders and represent EEX towards EU institutions during meetings, events and conferences.
  • Support the organisation of informal and formal events in EEX’ EU Representation office.

You bring along:

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in EU policy-making.
  • Good understanding of energy policy and law-making processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communications and advocacy skills. 
  • Responsible and results-oriented working style as well as high reliability.
  • Ability to analyse complex issues and to present these in a target group-oriented manner.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English, command of German is a plus.
  • Academically qualified in relevant fields.
