Senior (f/m/d) Policy Advisor - Power / Energy Markets in Brussels
Your responsibilities
You will work in EEX’ EU Representation Office in Brussels, which acts as center of expertise and is responsible for relations with EU stakeholders and institutions. The EU Representation Office is part of the Political & Regulatory Affairs team with locations across Europe. In line with EEX’ business strategy, you will have a particular focus on policy related to forward power market design and support the development of policies aimed at creating optimal hedging markets. Given the strategic importance of our Nordic power market, your role will also focus on monitoring and advocating political and regulatory developments specifically related to the Nordics. Together with your colleagues in Brussels, you will define EEX’ European policy priorities and report to the Head of EU Representation. You will be expected to take ownership of your topics, for which a warm group of colleagues and experts supports you. Your tasks
- Monitor and analyze political and regulatory developments relevant for energy derivative markets, with a specific focus on forward power market design, energy prices and derivatives markets.
- Together with EEX’ business experts, develop concrete positions and establish appropriate communication strategies for the respective topics.
- Maintain an active network and communicate proactively with institutional stakeholders including EU institutions and ACER, as well as Nordic stakeholders and authorities. Represent EEX in a trustworthy manner.
- Work together with the Head of the office on an adequate response to political initiatives relating to the functioning of the energy derivatives market.
You bring along
- Minimum 4-6 years of relevant professional experience. Ideally, in an energy trading context.
- Good understanding of the regulatory framework applicable to forward energy markets, including relevant financial and energy regulation such as the FCA Regulation.
- Experience in Nordic power markets and an understanding of the specific regulatory and policy dynamics is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and advocacy skills.
- Proactive and accountable style of working with a demonstrated ability to take ownership of complex topics.
- Ability to analyse complex issues and to present these in a target group-oriented manner.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English. Proficiency of a Nordic language is a strong advantage
- Academically qualified in relevant fields.
