Head of Unit / Team Leader (f/m/d) IT Engineering

EEX Group is seeking a talented Head of Engineering. In this role, you will define how to evolve the EEX/ECC system landscape, drive forward technological change and work on transforming EEX/ECC IT into an Engineering organization. Your work will directly influence the European power market – a growing and highly regulated market that is in search of further innovation. System design, quality, and high availability is of extreme importance to us, so we're looking for a professional engineer and leader that takes a pragmatic and passionate approach to technology to solve problems.


 Your tasks:

  • Shaping Engineering culture inside EEX 
  • Evolve technological roadmap for system landscape together with all IT areas and business units
  • Build up and lead a team to implement Automation & DevOps across all products
  • Coordination and operational steering of external service providers
  • Support and Develop team capabilities for all products

You bring along:

  • Experience in leading and transforming organizations in the area of software technology
  • Good understanding of Domain Driven Design and Modelling of IT systems
  • Strong background in software engineering and methodology -combined with lots of hands  on experience
  • Very good knowledge in at least on object oriented language (preferably  Java). Additional knowledge of Python is a plus
  • Experience with at least one Messaging Technology (e.g. Kafka) and application integration (e.g. Rest)
  • Know-how and hands-on experience with automatization methods and DevOps concepts
  • Excellent communication skills on the management level 
  • Mind set of an influencer who wants to shape the future of operational models within IT
  • Excellent language skills in English and German
