Hallo
Leipzig.

Welcome
to our World.

Expert Enterprise Risk Management (f/m/d)

We’re flexible! We’re happy to receive applications in English or German.

The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team belongs to the Chief Risk Officer-section and is part of the Enterprise Risk & Outsourcing Management department. The team is responsible for central tasks in risk management and risk controlling. Our focus is on risks that are not covered by the collateral provided by our Clearing Members, the so-called default waterfall in accordance with our central regulatory basis, the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR). We called it the uncovered risk area. Here ERM manages the risks classified as material, such as Credit Risk, Operational Risk and Market Risk, as well as Business Risk and Liquidity Risk. We are responsible for large parts of the regulatory reporting and act as a 2nd Line of Defense for the credit risk-based admission process and ongoing monitoring of our Clearing Members and other Counterparties.

Your tasks:
As an Expert in Enterprise Risk Management, you will be responsible for the topics of Regulatory Risk Reporting, Economic Risk Management and EEX Group Risk Management. In this way, you will process and develop the substantive topics in these three central pillars of our team.

  • Your thematic focus in the area of Regulatory Risk Reporting will include regulatory and statistical reportings in accordance with the relevant regulatory requirements (e.g. EMIR, Außenwirtschaftsverordnung), capital planning from a normative and economic perspective, liquidity management in the 2nd Line of Defense function, as well as reporting requirements arising from ECC's business in other justifications (Singapore, Switzerland, etc.). Very good knowledge of CCP and/or banking regulation is therefore the central core of your professional profile.
  • In the area of Economic Risk Management, you will actively manage the topics of Risk Strategy, Risk Inventory and the Risk Bearing Capacity, including integrated Stress Tests. This means that you work on the further development of methodologies and approaches for quantifying risks. Strong mathematical knowledge and extensive professional experience in the field of risk modelling therefore contribute to your success in our team. You will also accompany the ongoing risk reporting process vis-à-vis the relevant committees, whereby experience in the preparation of risk reports and committee work would be a great advantage.
  • For EEX Group Risk Management, you will get in touch with the key members of the group and be responsible for the corresponding Group Risk Report. We therefore highly appreciate strong communication skills and a structured and self-confident appearance.

Together with the assigned team members of the ERM, you will continue to shape the topics and keep a close eye on the relevant regulatory requirements. You will accompany the operational processes and be responsible for the fixed written rules as well as the established concepts. With your help, the IDPs we use are actively adapted to changes and - where possible - gradually transferred to IT.
You will actively represent the topics in the company and projects and communicate with the associated internal ECC and EEX departments as well as with internal and external auditors or the relevant supervisory authorities. In addition, you will be in contact with departments of Deutsche Börse Group in order to meet existing reporting requirements and strengthen professional exchange.
Of course, you also get a lot back from your team for all this. Because we appreciate exchanging ideas, being there for each other and making each other better. We call this: Exchange Mindset.

Your skills:

  • Degree in Business Administration/Economics, Mathematics, Physics or Macroeconomics
  • Long-term professional experience in a comparable position at a Central Counterparty (CCP), a bank or consultancy or an external auditor
  • Many years of experience in dealing with supervisory authorities and external auditors
  • Broad experience with banking regulation and regulation of CCPs in the above-mentioned areas of expertise
  • Knowledge of the specifics of the energy environment is an advantage
  • Mathematical skills, especially in the field of risk modelling and quantification
  • Very good written and spoken English skills
  • Very structured working style as well as high reliability and conscientiousness
  • Strong and persuasive communication skills
  • Ability to take responsibility for complex tasks and goals
  • Ability to propose and implement solutions
  • A team-oriented and committed attitude
