Our section “Software Development” is responsible for the management of the overall IT application and system landscape of EEX/ ECC and therefore for defining an “Architecture and Governance Framework” to govern the decentral product-based management of IT applications. As Expert-member of the team “IT Engineering” you are responsible for the technical solution design being in line with the architecture and security requirements. 

Your tasks: 

• Planning and leading software construction activities for strategic, large and complex development projects 
• Creating and re-designing fully IT managed solutions in close collaboration with our business department and by the use of state-of-the-art technologies and security tools 
• Assessing the feasibility of business process changes and recommending alternative approaches 
• Analyzing our technologies portfolio for potential improvements respectively deriving and implementing new features to streamline the development workflow 
• Supporting our business departments in the creation of requirements and translating these into software designs to evolve the value added to our business 
• Establishing milestones and supporting the assignment of tasks and/or responsibilities 
• Ensuring the compliance to internal and external standards, regulations, procedures and best practices 
• Fluent communication in regards of presenting complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences when engaging with colleagues, users/ customers, suppliers and partners 
• As central contact person for the developers: Sharing knowledge, experience and recommendations to the team and supporting team members’ appropriate development opportunities

Your skills: 

• You either have successfully completed a degree in Information Technology/ -Engineering at a university or university of applied sciences or a comparable qualification 
• You bring along in-depth software engineering expertise (development, deployment and design of containerized solutions) in an agile/scrum-based environment, supported by at least 7 years of professional and/ or project experience in this area of work 
• Your extensive experience in full stack web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React/ Angular, Java, Python, multiple Databases) etc. sets you apart 
• You bring along knowledge in the following technologies: Google Cloud Platform/ Kubernetes/ OpenShift as well as familiarity with technologies like Git/Github, Linux and Jenkins  
• You have experience in the application of security controls for the public cloud (encryption of data in motion/ rest and key management  
• You understand the DevOps principle and ideally have working experience in its implementation 
• You are characterized by your team spirit and readiness to show initiative & ownership in a dynamic, agile environment 
• You distinguish yourself through your strong high-level analytical skills and you ambition to constantly improve existing processes 
• You have already gained experience working in a banking and/or commodity environment or at least in a highly regulated environment 
• You can clearly demonstrate impactful communication skills in Business English (oral, written and presentation) in both formal and informal settings. Knowledge of German language on intermediate level would be advantageous but is not mandatory
