Your tasks: 

We're looking for a Senior IT Solution Architect to join the Enterprise Architecture team at EEX Group, where you will support three applications from our IT product portfolio alongside two dedicated development teams. As a Senior IT Solution Architect, you will contribute hands-on technical expertise to architectural decision-making and support and monitor implementation across your applications. You'll work closely with the product team, architecture team, market operations, system operations, developers, management, and external service providers. This role suits an experienced professional who bridges strategic architecture, technical expertise, stakeholder and provider management, and complex cross-system integration across EEX Group and Deutsche Börse Group.  

Your responsibilities will include: 

• Steer target architectures, long-term system roadmaps, and architectural decisions across your applications
• Support the transition of data flows from legacy systems to their successor systems
• Manage architectural improvements to ensure high-throughput capabilities at peak loads
• Develop refactoring strategies to continuously reduce technical debt
• Perform continuous vulnerability monitoring across various tools and enforce strict SLA-based remediation
• Ensure all solution designs comply with Deutsche Börse Group Information Security frameworks and regulatory mandates (especially the Digital Operational Resilience Act – DORA)
• Guide development teams during implementation and help resolve challenges
• Help evaluate and select appropriate technologies, strategies, and frameworks together with developers
• Collaborate with teams, architects, and developers to continuously improve system performance
• Support with risk assessments and penetration test activities
• Create and maintain internal compliance and security documentation, e.g. Digital authorization Concept, as well as technical documentation, e.g. architecture diagrams, technical documentation, system overview

Your skills: 

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience as a Solution Architect, Lead Architect, or Senior Systems Engineer
• Expertise in event-driven architecture, API design, IAM/IDP integrations, and modern data streaming and batch processing
• Experience decoupling legacy architectures and implementing architectural upgrades
• Experience with high-availability and mission-critical enterprise environments
• A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills, as you will communicate with both executive stakeholders and technical teams
• Fluency in English - spoken and written. German is an advantage

It would be great if you also bring along: 

• Hands-on experience designing CI/CD pipelines
• Experience designing and implementing automated testing strategies
• Experience steering complex products with frequent release cycles
• Experience guiding and reviewing external IT service providers and software development teams to meet internal architecture standards
• Experience with enterprise IT security practices, vulnerability management, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., DORA, ISO 27001, BSI/BaFin/ISRM requirements)
• Domain knowledge in energy trading, financial derivatives, clearing, or exchange interfaces
• Industry certifications in enterprise or solution architecture
